MIRA THOMPSON

Mira Thompson is a singer, songwriter and performer. Inspired by the tradition of vocal jazz, she is drawn to narrative songs with strong poetic and visual elements. During her time at the HKU Utrecht Conservatorium she developed a fascination for the different ways in which the voice can function as an embodied instrument. Whether written, spoken or sung, Mira uses language to evoke deep and hidden feelings with a sincere but witty approach.

Mira Thompson and classical pianist Djuwa Mroivili found each other in their love for narrative music. This new project is an investigation into the muse. How can music turn the conventional/one-sided view around? Through their warm tone and liveliness they lead the audience on unexpected journeys and stories.
