TEIS SEMEY’S MIDNIGHT MESS

In 2023, Teis Semey released the album ‘Midnight mess volume 1’ (Loumi records) following a composition assignment for North Sea Round Town. Partly recorded in a squat in Amsterdam and partly in a concert hall in Eindhoven, he recorded this tranquil album with a choir and an organ. In Teis’ own words ‘this album sort of swept my heart away from the start. Midnight Mess vol. 1 is as much a choral album as it is a jazz album. Or an indie album. In other words, ‘kind of, but also’.”

Purposely choosing for DYI approach to composing and recording and a raw sounding mix, resulted in a very up-close and personal album. On the last evening of our series, Teis will perform music from this album, in what we expect will be a unique and very intimate concert, fitting perfectly with our venue.
