KOEN BOEIJINGA

With his solo work, Koen Boeijinga offers a glimpse into his daily rituals. Surrounded by a colorful collection of instruments ranging from flutes to drums, percussion and home-made objects, he finds boundless pleasure in exploring sound. His compositions, often repetitive, drone-oriented and full of room for improvisation, are his medium to create a feeling of total involvement and freedom. Koen connects the traditional with the contemporary and, in fast-paced and digitized world, goes back to the human and primal character of music.

About The Young Creators Program

Koen Boeijinga is one of the four talents participating in our Young Creators program in 2024. In this program, we collaborate with four emerging, talented musicians to provide them with a sustainable career boost. On the Roof also supports these artists by filming their concerts and producing short video portraits they can use as an introduction to the public and other promotional purposes. Additionally, they are featured as our guests at On the Roof, presenting their music to a new audience.
