CHIEKO DONKER DUYVIS

Chieko Donker Duyvis’ compositions are a reflection of her multi-cultural background, inspired among others by classical music, improvisation and North-Brazilian folk music. Playing the cello while singing at the same time, she collaborated on many original projects, some of them with with dancers or painters, all of them involving exciting fellow musicians. This summer she was the Grachtenfestival’s ‘Jonge Maker’ where she premiered her new ensemble. But before this concert, she gave an exclusive preview at On The Roof.

About the Young Creators program

Chieko Donker Duyvis is one of three talents taking part in our Young Creators program in 2022. In this program, we work with three upcoming, talented musicians to give their career a sustainable boost. These young creators attended mentoring sessions by Tami Toledo Matuoka to guide them through the music business. Moreover, Sophie Conin & Galed Hamed produced video portraits they will use to introduce themselves to the public and for promotion purposes. And of course, they were our guests On the Roof where they played sold out concerts.
