JOANA ALMEIDA

Breaking new grounds, Joana established herself as the first female fado guitarist in Portugal. While respecting the beautiful traditions of fado, Joana brings her own identity to the genre, incorporating unexpected instruments and writing her own songs. Carried by her passion for karate form which she distilled her discipline, and her passion for music, she started several bands. With Cacha Mundinho, she brings a new blend of sounds to your ears.

About the Young Creators program

Joana Almeida is one of three talents taking part in our Young Creators program in 2022. In this program, we work with three upcoming, talented musicians to give their career a sustainable boost. These young creators attended mentoring sessions by Tami Toledo Matuoka to guide them through the music business. Moreover, Sophie Conin & Galed Hamed produced video portraits they will use to introduce themselves to the public and for promotion purposes. And of course, they were our guests On the Roof where they played sold out concerts.
