She doesn’t perform very often – her last album ‘The Ritual’ dates from 2014 – but she’s held in high esteem by her fans. Including On the Roof programmer Felix Hildenbrand, who gave Qeaux Qeaux Joans carte blanche for a concert on our rooftop. Joans is free to invite artists of her choice to create a unique concert.

Dutch singer Qeaux Qeaux Joans makes avant-garde pop that changes colour and shape all the time. There’s a lot of heart and soul in it, and piano and strings often give the music a filmic layer. Joans has been compared to Joanna Newsom, Bat For Lashes, Ane Brun and James Blake. She has shared the stage with one of her heroes Seasick Steve.
